It is highly encrypted, and your visits will remain protected and confidential. You will receive an email with a link directing you to the video conference with Mary Jo. You will receive a phone call requesting payment 5-10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.

What is a Nurse Practitioner?

Nurse Practitioners are licensed, independent practitioners who practice in ambulatory, acute and long term care as a primary and /or specialty care provider. According to their practice specialty, they provide nursing and medical services to individuals, families and groups. In addition to diagnosing, and managing acute episodic and chronic illnesses, Nurse Practitioners emphasize health promotion and disease preventions. Services include but are not limited to pharmacologic agents and non pharmacologic therapies. Teaching and counseling individuals, families, and groups are a part of a Nurse Practitioner practice. As licensed independent practitioners, Nurse Practitioners practice autonomously and in collaboration with health care professionals and other individuals to assess, diagnose, treat and manage the patient’s health problems and needs.

Can you prescribe medications if I need them?

Yes, Mary Jo is a board certified Nurse practitioner and can write prescriptions.

How do I get a medication refill?

-When medications are prescribed, there will be a sufficient quantity to last until your next office visit. Generally, the policy is to prescribe a 3 to 4 month supply.
- You should discuss and know your interval with Mary Jo. Intervals are dependent upon your medical condition and the type of medication you take.
-Medications will not be filled without proper blood work and a follow up, so please be sure to schedule your next appointment before you run out of your prescribed medications.

Do you accept insurance?

We do not accept any form of health insurance or Medicare or Medicaid, so we are considered an out-of-network or non-participating provider. If you wish, we can provide you with a visit superbill so that you can submit it to your insurance company. However, please note that it is your responsibility to determine what, if any, out-of-network benefits you have with your insurance plan.

See here for a detailed explanation of why we don’t accept insurance.

Will my insurance cover my lab tests?

Insurance coverage is very much plan dependent. You should check with your plan to see what lab they prefer you use. Mary Jo will provide you with a lab order that you will then take to LabCorp, Bio Reference or Quest. Not all tests are covered by insurance and sometimes you must first meet a high deductible. Please find out the specifics before your appointment, and certainly before having any tests done.

Will you bill me or how will I pay?

Payment is requested at the time of service, credit card, check , cash or debit is accepted.
